Amman, November 2017 – In order to contribute to alleviating the suffering of Jordanian patients and Syrian refugees in the Ruwaished area of the Mafraq Governorate, the Central Electricity Generating Company (CEGCO), in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, donated an additional dialysis machine to Al Ruwaished Government Hospital, as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility strategy the Company adopted for 2017.
Through the mutual coordination and cooperation between CEGCO and the Ministry of Health, the device was purchased, installed and commenced operations, in accordance with the specifications of the Ministry. The additional machine will supplement the apparatus that is currently in operation, in order to ensure the availability of a substitute device for patients in the event that the original fails, especially given that the closest hospital with a dialysis machine is 170 km away from the Al Ruwaished Hospital. Furthermore, CEGCO was adamant about providing a device of the same quality of that already located at the hospital, in order to facilitate the maintenance of the machine and the provision of its parts, if necessary.
On this occasion, CEGCO CEO, Nadeem Rizvi, stated, "This step underscores the positive role CEGCO plays in supporting communities in remote and less fortunate areas. We consider the installation of an additional dialysis machine at the Al Ruwaished Government Hospital an integral part of our efforts to achieve community development and to contribute to building interdependent, supportive and balanced societies, especially within the areas we operate.
